GM's market share improved slightly from 60.4% to 60.7% despite a 5% loss from the quartet of SUVs, the Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, and Yukon XL. Together with the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, they accounted for 10.2% of all GM new vehicle sales in 2007.
The segment as a whole generated 3.5% of the U.S. auto industry's sales volume in 2007, down from 3.6% in 2006. A minor decrease? The segment was worth 4.6% of the industry's sales in 2003.
