Large SUV Sales In America - May 2014 YTD

75.5% of the full-size SUVs sold by volume brands in America in May 2014 were GM products, down from 76%. GM's quartet combined for a 6.5% year-over-year improvement despite the Yukon XL's losses and the Tahoe's slight decrease.

Why didn't their market share improve? Ford sold 5025 Expeditions, a 32% improvement, and grabbed 17.1% of the segment, up from 13.9% a year ago. Ford needs to clear out remaining 2014s before the revised, EcoBoost V6-powered MY2015 Expeditions arrive later this year. 

The Chevrolet Tahoe once again led the category in terms of total sales. 

In fact, the Tahoe was America's 19th-best-selling SUV/crossover overall, behind the Mazda CX-5 but ahead of the Dodge Journey.
