Cadillac sold 1907 regular-wheelbase Escalades, an 84% year-over-year improvement, and 1058 long-wheelbase Escalade ESVs, a 59% jump compared with June of last year. In other words, the big Escalade outsold the Land Rover Range Rover, and then Cadillac sold another 1907 copies of the "smaller" Escalade.
This sales pace still doesn't compare with the achievements made by the Escalade a decade ago. Cadillac sold 2698 regular-wheelbase Escalades in June 2004 and 1246 Escalade ESVs (and another 670 Escalade EXTs.)
But in 2004, the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class didn't exist, we hadn't yet witnessed a Hurricane Katrina-fuelled gas price increase, and the purchase/lease of a gigantic SUV wasn't perceived to be as distasteful.
