Top 30 Best-Selling Vehicles In Canada - April 2014

2014 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Edition 30
Canada's 20 best-selling vehicle nameplates accounted for 48.5% of the overall industry's April 2014 sales volume, a figure that was diminished somewhat by the Ford F-Series' loss of more than 900 sales compared with April 2013. The F-Series continues to be Canada's favourite truck line and most popular vehicle range overall, but the gap was narrowed to 2746 units from 3926 units a year ago.

Canada's top-selling car, the Toyota Corolla, was joined by 14 other passenger car nameplates in the top 30. April marked the first time since last May that Toyota Canada sold more than 5000 Corollas in a single month.

SUVs were led, as is normally the case, by the Ford Escape. There were ten other utility vehicles in the top 30. The top-selling minivan, Dodge's Grand Caravan, was the only minivan in the top 30.

Its partner, the Chrysler Town & Country, was the 31st-best-selling vehicle in Canada in April, ahead of the Subaru Forester, Kia Forte, Chevrolet Sonic, Nissan Sentra, and the 36th-ranked Toyota Sienna.

Compared with April 2013, the Nissan Rogue, Nissan Versa, Honda Fit, Hyundai Tucson, and Jeep Cherokee are all new to the top 30. They replaced the Kia Optima, Toyota Matrix, Nissan Sentra, Chrysler 200, and Ford Edge. Compared with March 2014, the Forester, Sentra, and Edge have all been nudged out, replaced by the Tucson, Fit, and Kia Rio.
