Top 20 Best-Selling Cars In America - June 2014

2014 Honda Civic sedan white
For the third time in four months Toyota has sold more than 40,000 Camrys in a single month in the United States. June 2014 Camry volume was up 13% even as the overall new vehicle market, while healthier than anticipated, was up just 1.2%.

The Camry outsold its nearest rival, the Honda Accord, by 8335 units and leads the Accord (which is down slightly in 2014) by 37,262 units through the first half of 2014. In other words, the Camry sells 20% more often than the second-best-selling car in America.

And it's not the only Toyota in the top 20. The Corolla ranked fourth; the Prius (sans C and V) ranked 15th. The Accord was joined by the steadily-improving Civic. This was the first time the Civic outsold the Corolla in 2014.

Fords ranked fifth and sixth, as Chevrolet Cruze volume plunged 21%, enabling the Focus to surge past its crosstown small car rival. Hyundais ranked ninth and tenth; Chevrolets 12th and 13th. Kias bookended the Prius, and the BMW 3-Series (with its 4-Series sibling) led all premium brand cars.

Prefer to think of the Subaru Outback as an SUV/crossover than a tall wagon? That's sensible. The Outback would have ranked 12th among SUVs and crossovers in June, and the Chevrolet Sonic would move up to the 20th spot among cars.

Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling cars can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC's Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well.
